In the last 6 months since I've moved to California, I've learned a whole heck of a lot more about myself than I ever have.  It's been a pretty crazy ride thus far.  And as I continue to kill this bottle of wine I'm currently working on, I am very hopeful for the future and whatever it decides to bring.  Teaching has had both its ups and downs so far, and I am torn between coming back next year or moving away completely to someplace far away.  Maybe Seattle, Portland, Japan, or back to Michigan.  I really have no idea, but that's ok for now.  I really want to know what it's like teaching 3/4/5th grade, and not having to deal with attitudes and puberty.  That sounds good, although part of me still wants to see how much better I could do when I know what to expect next year.  I'm still living with Megs, although I really feel like I need to move out so I can move on with my life.  It's been pretty tough, but I think I'm evolving and getting over what I need to in order for me to start taking the necessary steps to finding happiness.  I have a very nice place lined up if I can find a roommate to replace me and put their name on the lease.  I've been desperately looking online and around town though, and I don't know if I'm going to find anyone.  I'm finally able to talk to Megs like a real person again, though, and it's really helped me through some pretty gritty emotional stuff.  I recently started therapy, and I think it's been a good decision.  I haven't been able to take the blame on a lot of things up until now, and it helps realizing that I have a lot of issues I need to work out and understand better.  I've been dating this new girl named Jacqueline who is months away from completing her PHD in psychology, and I don't know why but she has been a huge force with me trying to figure things out and help me become what I need to become.  I just want to be happy.  And right now, I'm not where I want to be.  There are so many things I want to do, and so many things I want to see and experience.  I recently have started doing yoga, and swing dance lessons, and I love each although both are extremely difficult.  That's the test though.  The test of boundaries and trying new things, no matter what the outcome.  So the way I see it is I can either lie down on the floor and ball up into a pitiful and helpless thing, or I can lift my head up, straighten my spine, and attempt to take the world head on.  Don't stop me now, I'm having such a good time...

Well howdy doo to you all!  Its been a long time since Ive posted anything, and a whole heck of a lot has happened since.  This blog will be abnormally large since I want to go back a ways over the past month, and Im mainly keeping the record for myself but I would be tickled silly if anyone else reads it.  I am currently at my new apartment in sunny Moreno Valley, California (just moved here on Friday) and am eagerly awaiting my new job.  I found out today that instead of teaching 7th grade life science, that I have been switched to teaching 6th grade math and science.  I love the 6th grade switch, but I dont know how I feel about teaching math.  Ive never been a huge math person, but Im hoping that good old D-ball prepared me for whatever those snot-nosed rascals have in store for me.  I checked out my classroom today, and I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of space Im going to have.  I dont really have any furniture yet though, so well see how it fills up.  Im sure that Ill have at least 30 kids in each of my classes, so it might get a little tight.  Its a very nice looking classroom though, air conditioned, with TV/VCR, overhead, computer, and white board instead of a chalkboard (which I am THRILLED about).  I talked to a very nice veteran teacher who will be teaching language arts and social studies to the same students, and she gave me some good tips on getting started.  I have new teacher orientation this coming Thursday and Friday, and then school officially starts next Wednesday the 16th.  Ill have to completely have everything setup by then, so Im going to be plenty busy.  Im uber excited though.

Moreno Valley is amazing so far.  We basically live within a 1 mile radius of everything anyone could possibly ever want or need:  Target, a mall, fine dining and fast food, grocery stores, movie theaters, Best Buy/Circuit City, and tons more.  Most of is only a couple of years old too, so everything looks very pretty and clean among the palm trees and desert landscape.  Our 2-bedroom apartment is extremely luxurious and spacious, and the complex has a full sized Olympic pool, amazingly big workout facility, conference room, DVD movie theater room, and more.  The city itself is nestled between some big brown mountains, which Im guessing is where the name Moreno (brown in Spanish) came from.  Im also very much enjoying the diversity of the place.  Its predominantly Latino, but there are people from all different wakes of life, and they all seem extraordinarily friendly.  I spent almost an entire day at the mall the other day, and I didnt throw up once!  That really says something, because I normally despise malls.  The people watching was great.

Megs and I have decided to call it quits.  Were still living together, but with the stress of the move and a huge buildup of negativity, weve decided its best that we just try and be friends.  Its been a tough relationship, with lots of ups, but the downs have just seemed to dominate over the past few months, and it seems like theres not much either of us can do to change that.  Hopefully, things will work out for the best.

Landen (Megs friend) followed us all the way out here to Cali with hopes of making it big in LA as a comedian.  Hes been with us for the past week and a half of traveling/settling, but he left today to find a place in Santa Monica and decided to stay with a friend in Hollywood, which is much closer for him anyway.  It was great having him as much-needed comic relief and support.  I wish him the very best with his apartment search and in getting his brilliant comedic foot in the door as soon as possible.  I know hes going to go far.  Remember the name, Landen Celano, people

It felt so good to finish up my ESL classes.  I am now completely DONE with grad school, and I have an additional ESL endorsement which will come in very handy.  I also finally sold my car to a very nice gal from Novi.  I hope it works well for her.

My last week or so in Ypsi/A2 was extremely memorable, and I couldnt have asked for any better times.  Thank you all SO MUCH for being the amazing friends that you are.  I miss you all already.  Im going to first do some rewinding back to the night of July 15th, where I had my going away weekend romp through Kalamazoo.  I was able to spend some quality time and drink some tasty brews at the Kraftbrau and Green Top with such lovely people as:  Casey, Dave W and his wife Steph, Amy, Pat S, and Nate K.  It was extremely awesome to see each of them, and it was a very memorable night.  I also saw my good friend Brady the next day, who I hadnt seen in way too long, for a special Sunday breakfast with the fam.  Afterward, I had an hour or so to kill so I went out to good old VBYC for a bit, and saw some people I hadnt seen in awhile and reminisced with nature.  Also said goodbye to my sister, whos a kitchen girl this summer, and wished her the best.  Im kind of bummed that were not going to be living in the same town again.  It was pretty sweet having her around last year, and I feel like weve gotten a lot closer than we ever have.  I seriously am going to fly her out here if I can put the funds together.  She has to see this.  Next, I said goodbye to my family for the last time, which was a whole heck of a lot harder than I thought it would be.  They have been so amazing and supportive with all of these huge decisions I have been making.  I couldnt love them more.

July 24 The last night of the Lock Robster at Blind Pig karaoke.  It was one of the hardest nights of my life.  That place is seriously my home away from home, and is one of the few places in the world where I feel the most comfortable and the most me (the other one being VBYC).  I already miss the place and the people.  I invited pretty much everyone I knew or could get ahold of, and then the magical night was off and running.  Beforehand, Allison and I hit up ABC (my favorite brewery) one last time for some delicious happy hour brews.  For my opener, I finally got around to doing Dirty White Boy by Foreigner, which I had been wanting to do for months, and got the place rocking quite well.  Next, Brynne and I did what was easily the best Roxette either of us have ever done with an amazing rendition of The Look.  That one felt really really good for some reason.  Then I sang my favorite karaoke song, Footloose by myself by the one and only Kenny Loggins, dancing and sweating my goofy ass off while rocking out like a mo-fo.  Next, Allison and I got things groovin with an astounding version of Good Vibrations by none other than Marky Mark and his funky bunch.  I sang the big black woman backup vocals while Allison attempted one handed pushups.  Quite hilarious.  Finally, for my last performance on the Blind Pig stage, Katey and myself kicked out Rock Lobster (a very appropriate last ditty) by the B52s, which was excellent and a barrel of fun.  I was a little TOd by the fact that Landen and I didnt have time to bust out Bohemian Rhapsody, but there will be plenty of time for that out here in Cali.  It truly was a magical and drunken evening.  I also got to see a crap-ton of people I hadnt seen in quite some time, which was super.

July 27 The last night of 80s Schmeightys glory at 80s Trivia Night @ Aubrees in Ypsi.  It was a very fun night, as Marina joined our typical team of Landen, Megs, and myself, but we just werent able to pull out all the stops, and we ended up taking 2nd place.  We had a damn good run, though, with ~5 solid straight wins.  I have a feeling that someplace, somewhere, 80s Schmeightys will rise again, just like a phoenix or something.

July 28 My good old karaoke soulmate, Carries 22nd birthday.  I hadnt seen this girl in ages, and just randomly found out she was throwing this huge kegger with live bands out near Kerrytown.  It ended up being a very fun night, with her mini-bottles of rum/vodka/other hard stuff strapped to her like those bullet belts.  Allison and I bought 40s, mingled, and I met the original writer/artist of Vampirella (a comic from the mid 90s of this half-naked and hot vampire chick).  He was a very interesting fella, but something must have happened because I think hes homeless now.  He has a very scraggly beard and carries this huge bag, proving he is who he is.  Very interesting guy.  Very interesting night.

July 29 German Park/Ozs.  Another very fun evening and night.  Allison and Tabitha, Brynne and Julie, and Les, Rudy, and his cousin, all accompanied me to German Park for some good old German grub and glug glug.  It was extremely tasty, as usual, with the spatzen, potatoes, knockwursts, and always intoxicating Optimator.  I also picked up a new hobby, which is photographing old people dancing.  Its just so gosh darn cute, and theyre having so much fun.  Its really great to capture them in the moment.  I can only hope to be as happy and mobile when Im that old.  I also saw my old friend Ray there, who I worked with at preschool and is one helluva guy.  Later that night, I joined back up with Les and her posse at Oz, a place I had never been.  It was quite cool, I really liked the setup, and I got my dancing groove thang on for a bit with the help of some delicious White Russians.  I took a ton of amazing pics with Les showing what she does best, and I was extremely glad that I got to dance with her one last time before I left.  After awhile, since it had been such a long day, I started getting pretty darn tired, so we called it a night.

July 30 Landens last night at Improv Inferno/Couch Explosion/Stumpleupon.com.  Had another great night, starting with the Best Of Landens standup schtick.  I will seriously never get old of his material, and hes so good at coming up with new stuff.  He was a huge crowd-pleaser, and he knocked everyone out of the water.  Cant wait to see him start doing his thing in SoCal.  Later on that night, I was stressing out about my damn couch, and how to get rid of it.  We couldnt get it through the door out onto the sidewalk, so Rudy and I took a baseball bat and just went hog-wild on that thing, tearing the frame apart and ripping out the sides, cursing every 8 seconds and finally taking the pieces to the curb.  I cracked my old wooden bat, but it was old anyway.  Later later on, I went back to Megs and hung out with the ladies, making another couple giant White Russians, watching some hilarious YouTube stuff, and being introduced and entertained by Stumbleupon.com from Katey, which is a truly amazing and very addicting site.  It was pretty hard saying goodbye to her and Marina.

July 31 Packed up and left Michigan, drove to Davenport, Iowa for the night.

August 1 Drove through Iowa and most of Nebraska, stayed in North Platte for the night.

August 2 Finished Nebraska, drove through beautiful Colorado and into Green River, Utah for the night.

August 3 Finished Utah, drove through Arizona, Nevada, and finally into Moreno Valley California, where we stayed at a hotel since we arrived after hours.  Total distance from Michigan:  2236 miles

About this Entry
Jun. 21st, 2006 @ 04:21 pm another one bites the dust...
I finished up my ELMAC program last week Thursday, so now I just have to wait for the pieces of paper to come in which tell me I am a Master of Arts in Elementary Education.  I know it doesn't sound like elementary ed is a tough area, but it is.  This past year (June through June) has been the hardest year of my life academically.  I'm so glad I had the amazing support of my cohort.  I've made some of the best friends ever, and I truly hope I stay in touch with all of them.  I feel so damn ready to go teach, and that I'm well-prepared for whatever those crazy middle schoolers have to throw at me.  The problem is that I've still got ESL classes the rest of the summer (through July 28...blah!).  I feel pretty burned out already since the last couple weeks of the program were so hectic, with writing a 45 page paper for my research class and another 20 pager for my curriculum class.  The ESL class I'm taking now is 2 weeks long, so there's a ton of jam-packed reading every night.  I seriously need a vacation, but I ain't gonna get one for awhile.

The yard sale went pretty well over the weekend.  It was exhausting but we sold quite a fair share of stuff for a decent profit.  On Sunday it randomly started to rain though, so some of the big furniture was ruined in the process.  I took the rest of the stuff to Salvation Army for donations.  Hope somebody can get some use out of the stuff.  Last Thursday, Dave came into town and I continued to celebrate the end of the program into the night, after dining and drinking at Leopolds and then heading over to Aubree's to meet up with Landen for 80's Trivia Night again.  We won our second consecutive time, which kicked ass, but Megs couldn't make it because she was fighting a super bad migraine.  I really hope these migraines aren't an indication of things to come, because they put her in so much pain and there's nothing much I can do to help her.  I really wish I could, because she really doesn't deserve it.  Speaking of pain, my elbow has gotten a lot better, but after an initial exam with an orthopedist, it looks like I might still need some kind of surgery.  It is basically a calcium buildup of some sort, wedged half way inside of my arm at the elbow.  The flexibility has improved a lot, and I'm almost completely off the motrin, but it doesn't sound like it's something that's just going to go away on its own.  It sucks though, because scheduling appointments is damn near impossible because they're so busy.  Most likely I won't be able to get the surgery done before I move.  Maybe if it's not too uncomfortable, though, I might be able to let my new insurance take care of more of it once I get to my new job.

Monday at the Pig was a splendid time indeed.  Megs was able to make it, as well as Landen, Brynne, Julie, Allison, and a couple of her friends.  I started out the night dedicating "Crazy on You" by Heart, to my lovely lady.  Twas an extremely hard and high song to do, but I think I was able to somewhat pull it off.  Next, I sang "Gonna Make You Sweat" by C & C Music Factory with Rae (Allison's friend) which was quite entertaining.  Then Landen and I got up there and rocked out some Kenny Loggins "Danger Zone" which was by far my best performance of the night.  Landen also did an amazing rendition of "Juke Box Hero" which was phenomenal and at the exactly right moment in the night.  Aaron was so energized by the rock that he started throwing bar stools every which way and to and fro.  Very fun night.  Afterwards, we all hit up Denny's at 3am, even though I had class in the morning.  It was totally worth it though after the ultimate omelet was in my belly.  Yum.

So there's some weird thingy in my elbow, which might be a cyst or strange calcium buildup, but basically I cannot physically bend my arm at the elbow more than a few inches.  A few days ago, the pain was so intense that I had to go to the ER.  They took x-rays and gave me like 10 different theories of what could be going on.  I won't find out until next Friday, when I go in to see the special orthopedics guy.  The pain has diminished quite a bit though, and I don't need a sling anymore, and the flexibility seems to be improving each day.  It's still super annoying though.  Especially since I've got 2 final projects due next week which will probably add up to being about 40 pages total.  I just finished a big paper today though, and as long as I just take it one thing at a time I should be ok.

I decided this past week that I'm going to try my hardest to make the remainder of Monday karaoke nights at the Pig.  The days are dwindling, and I want to do as much karaoke damage as I can until we move at the end of July.  This past Monday I started off with a little Proclaimers "I'm gonna be (500 miles)" which was a very hilarious romp.  Then I switched to a little Def Leppard's "Let's Get Rocked" which didn't go so well because I forgot some of the lines, and unfortunately nobody in the place seemed to know it.  It probably contains some of the cheesiest lines ever written though, such as

" I'm your average ordinary everyday dude...Drivin' with my baby to get her in the mood" and " All I wanna do is take a ride into the blue...Every time I want to love you I get stuck inside my room...Heaven knows I'm sick 'n' tired of dancin' with this broom" and " He said "Mow the lawn" - who me? "Walk the dog" - not my style, man..."Take out the trash" - no way..."Tidy your room" - c'mon get real...Sorry dad, gotta disappear Let's get the rock out of here!"

Then Brynne and I kicked it up another notch and did another rocking rendition of Roxette's "Joyride."  Twas the first time in well over a month that I attended the good old Pig.

Last night, Megs, Landen, and I went to Aubree's to play 80's trivia night, where we guessed the beginnings of countless 80's songs, and ended up being victorious and winning a crapload of free "beer money" towards our tab.  I think I have a new addiction...Today in between finishing up one of my papers, Megs and I finished up season 1 of Strangers With Candy, which I'm pretty sure is one of the most hilarious shows ever to exist in the history of the universe.  Can't wait for the movie this summer...

Megs and I had a wonderful trip out to Cali back a couple weeks ago. Everything was simply beautiful. Her parents were amazing enough to pay for a super fancy suite in Huntington Beach, which had a jacuzzi that lit up like a disco (in the room) and a super fantastic view overlooking the Pacific. We spent some quality time on the beach, searching for sand dollars and cool looking shells, then the weather took a turn for the better and we went swimming. Later that day we fought the traffic all the way to Moreno Valley (our soon-to-be home) and found a super nice apartment place to live. We're seriously going to be living like a king and queen. We have a large pool (open year round), a small movie theater in the clubhouse, a fantastical workout facility (each machine hooked up to cable TV), a super huge walk in closet in the bedroom, and an actual laundry room. We're soo excited. We also went to check out the nearest national park, which is called Lake Perris and also happens to be a highy active seismic area (!!!), but the topography was extremely beautiful with the mountains and desert fauna. It was a bit scary, however, because it was nearly deserted and looked like the perfect place for a zombie movie to occur. We took some pics and made sure we were gone before nightfall.

The next day, I got pulled over for speeding on my way to my orientation (which I was already running late for) but I didn't miss much and everything worked out. I took care of tons of paperwork for the job and checked out my new school. It seems pretty sweet. The principal seemed nice, as did everyone else. I was given my Life Science Teacher's Edition, which seems to actually be fairly interesting. Looks like it'll be pretty fun material to teach.

The town of Moreno Valley itself seemed cool. It's a huge growth area, so there's tons of new buildings going up all over town. It's a very diverse town, and us whitefolk are going to be the minority. It's going to be quite a big change. We're both kinda scared, but I think we're more excited than anything. There was a bit of drama over the past week, and a bit of soul searching, but everything looks like it's going to work out for the best, and I couldn't be more thrilled. The next chapter of our lives is about to begin, together, and I am the luckiest dude on the planet.

Well it's offish. Megs and I are moving to California at the end of the summer. I decided to go ahead with the Moreno Valley teaching gig with 7th grade life science. Pretty damn pleased with ourselves. We're actually leaving for a short vacation/business trip this week, in about 30 minutes, actually. I've got teacher orientation on Tuesday that I must attend, and we're hopefully going to find a place to live, but other than that we're just gonna live it up. Meg's amazing parents paid for us to have a super nice hotel right on Huntington Beach, and they hooked us up with directions and all kinds of other stuff. They're so good to us. It's going to be super nice to just get away from everything and just have fun soaking up some rays. We'll be there until Thursday. Here we go.

Allrighty...well the big news of late is that I have become an alumni of the U of M for the second time, this time as a master of elementary education. Yeehaw! The program lasts for another month, however, so I'm not completely finished yet. I did start my new ESL placement this week, which is in Ann Arbor and much closer/more convenient than Detroit, but I still miss my 5th graders to death. So far, the ESL class seems cool though, and I know it'll be a great experience. Most of the kids are Japanese, some are Korean, and a couple are Russian, so it's quite a change from my Latino kids in D-town. It's amazing to see the differences in what a little extra funding can do too. The school is beautiful.

Graduation this past weekend was good, solid, and clean fun. My parents came into town to help my sister move out of the dorms, and to see the ceremony. Friday night we went out to a nice Mexican dinner and then to the dollar movies and saw the Pink Panther, which was way the heck funnier than I thought it'd be. Then the next day they got to meet Meg's family at her sister's graduation party, which seemed to go quite smoothly.

I'm still strongly debating back and forth on teaching job prospects and where to move. Right now, it's looking like Moreno Valley (in CA) is the top choice. I've heard quite a few good things about it, and it looks like they are very interested in me teaching middle school science somewhere in their district. I was hoping that Palm Springs would call or email me back on a 4th or 5th grade spot, and I'm not yet giving up hope, but it doesn't look good right now since they won't know about the openings until the end of June. Can't wait that long! I also applied to a spot in Oakland, but I'm guessing they won't get back to me either. I just want to teach someplace warm dag-nabbit!

Karaoke as of late has been slim to non-existent. Last week I finally made it back to the Pig after a 1.5-2 month hiatus. Allison, Brynne and myself made a nice night of it, and hit up ABC beforehand just like the olden times. At the Pig, I started out with Tim McGraw's "Indian Outlaw" followed by a duet with Allison of Vanessa Williams' "Save the Best for Last" followed by a rocking solo rendition of Janet Jackson's "IF." It was a super good night. Then last night, I was the karaoke host for the first time in a great while, and although there were a few technological problems and glitches, it was fairly busy and a decent time.

So I've been on spring vacation this week, and overall it's been fairly relaxing, although I haven't gotten all the work done I was hoping to, and haven't done as many fun things as I was hoping. It didn't help that Megs and I have been fighting colds and my sister was in the hospital for the past 24+ hours. Basically, she passed out in her dorm due to being super dehydrated and sleeping for so long. She's out now, with a diagnosis of a kidney infection. I've been trying to be the best big brother I can, and I think I've done all I can do. She's still in pretty rough shape, but they got her all re-hydrated and on some good antibiotics. Hope she's gonna be alright.

Easter was a good time. Meg came up to meet the extended fam on my mom's side, and it went extremely well. She made a darn good impression, they loved her, and there was some darn delicious food to go along. I also got to show her around on the old family farm, although it wasn't too exciting since the cows are long gone.

Monday night, I was ready to live it up at the Pig for some karaoke, but was unpleasantly surprised when Brynne and I noticed there was a show instead. We had to settle for the Circus, and Stu, and it just wasn't the same. I sang some A-Ha "Take on Me" which would have been better had the sound been working and the mic turned up higher. I swear, Stu's just blowing all his karaoke money on blow, and not giving a rat's ass about his customers. I dubbed him the "Wal-Mart of karaoke" awhile back, and I couldn't be more right. It's all just a business to him, which is just sad. Katey was able to make it, however, and we were finally able to sing our first Electric Six karaoke song EVER together (a stunning rendition of "Danger! High Voltage") that would make Dick Valentine quite proud. The rest of the crowd, idiots that they were, weren't into it at all and didn't seem to even know it. Idiots.

Other than that, I've just been working on job applications, cover letters, and researching more into where we're going to move. I really wish the Palm Springs dude would email me back. It would make things so much easier. I think that's first on my list, followed by Yuma. Big decisions are hard.

Alrighty...well I had a big job fair last week, and I was somewhat nervous going into it and didn't think much would come from it.  I thought it would be good practice for going into other interviews though, so I put on my game face and went to town.  I talked to people all over the country:  Georgia, California, Arizona, North Carolina, and Virginia, and two districts liked me enough to interview and HIRE me right on the spot.  That's right...I have two offers thus far, one in Yuma, Arizona which is the third highest growing area in the country, and one in Moreno Valley, California, which is out in the desert and close to the Coachella Valley (yeah where one of the coolest summer music festivals is every year).  I also worked my charm with the boys in the Palm Springs district, and it looks like that might be another option as well.  So as you can probably guess, I am thrilled.  So is Megs.  It's a whole heck of a lot warmer there in the desert, but it's not humid obviously, and there's no winter.  Sounds very lovely.  All three would be within hours of San Diego, which is one of the nicest cities I've ever seen.  As of now, I'm having a hard time between the three, because they all sound amazing.  I need to make up my mind by the end of the month.

Last weekend was the big Electric Six show, which was another phenomenal time.  My 8th time to be precise.  I was proud to have my posse with me:  Megs, Reese (my sister),  Dave, Marina, Katey, Brynne, and Julie, and everyone seemed to have a splendid time.  E6 rocked it out as usual, and performed jimmy carter once again and I got it all on my camera.  I'm planning to upload it to my youtube as soon as possible.   My ears were ringing for a couple days afterwards, and Megs were ringing for longer, due to the fact that we were basically right next to the huge speakers for most of the night.  Hopefully we won't go deaf by the time we're 30.

This weekend has been surprisingly not as busy as the past month or so, so it's been quite a fun one.  Friday night we hung out with Les, her birthday boy Rudy, and other friends, and I DD'd them to Pontiac to this place called Club Sevin.  T'was a good time, although Megs and I had to leave to get food after awhile, then the bastard bouncers wouldn't let us back in without re-paying, so we said "screw that".  Then on the drive home we got lost, and it took an extra hour to finally get back (around 4am).  Not a big fan of Pontiac.  Every time I go/drive through I seem to get lost.  Oh well.

Last night, we celebrated another birthday (Graham's) at Arena, which turned out to be a very fun night.  Megs and I, in the awesomest dollar store excursion ever, found the perfect gag gifts for him, including motivational stickers and a grab bag "gift for a boy" which included a fake cell phone among other hilarious things.   After a few brewski's, we went to a very tasty diner downtown (shamrock something or other) and had what was probably the most delicious omelet ever (feta cheese and tomatoes).  I enjoy using lots of parentheses today (apparently).
